Research Intern
The Research Intern will assist in data collection analysis and writing
of various research projects including our white papers and regional,
industry and/or market research reports. The Research Assistant will
also aid in our monthly monitoring Briefings. He or she will also be
expected to help with general office duties.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate students, with excellent written and communication
skills, knowledge of Microsoft applications a must.
Prefer work study students, but may offer a small stipend to qualified
students. Must be resourceful, have sound analytical, research and
writing skills Ability to work with others, yet be motivated to work
independently. Must have knowledge of external resources, including
databases such as Lexis, Gartner Group,
Evaluator Group, EPA and others to collect and analyze data.
Must be organized.

BZHound seeks a Competitive Intelligence professional to perform
competitive intelligence gathering and analysis as part of the BZHound team.
BZHound works on projects designed to give our clients information
competitors' plans and activities.
Our goal is to enable better decision making throughout the client
company by providing insight into the competitive landscape.
In this role you research information about competitive business and
product directions, analyze what it means to the client, and ensure
that knowledge gets delivered to the appropriate audiences. Interfacing
with key internal clients including such organizations as strategy
development, executive management, solutions/services/product marketing,
sales, product development/engineering, and business unit management
teams is critical in both gathering and disseminating key information.
As a part of the BZHound team you will be expected to generate new clients
and be able to maintain a close client relationship.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills are required to pull trends, industry themes,
and competitive directions out of available information.
- Good communication skills (both written and oral) are a must for
concisely presenting competitive intelligence findings to multiple audiences.
- Strong elicitation skills are important for conducting face to face and
phone interviews.
- Knowledge of external resources, including companies such as Lexis,
Gartner Group, Evaluator Group, EPA and others to collect and analyze data,
such industry analysts is preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability are critical for managing efforts in an area
where every day you must speak and understand a different sign language.
- Strong business acumen and the understanding of internal decision
making processes are important.
- Quantitative analysis skills to identify key metrics and trends contained in
data are extremely helpful.
Experience and Education MBA Degree highly preferred
(Bachelors required - business or science degree preferred)
with 5 or more years or more relevant work experience.
Proven client generating experience
Consulting experience is highly preferred, with other related areas acceptable.
Location

Travel - Around 35%.
